Kakenya Center for Excellence (KCE) is a non-profit organization focused on serving the most vulnerable and underprivileged girls in Kenya.
Founded by Dr. Kakenya Ntaiya in 2008, the organization has built the first primary school for girls in Enoosaen, Kenya, that focuses on academic excellence, female empowerment, leadership, and community development. Located in the Keyian Division of the Transmara District of Kenya, the Kakenya Center opened in May 2009 with 32 students. We have now enrolled 170 students in grades four through eight.
The Kakenya Center is the realization of Kakenya’s dream to forever alter the lives of girls in her village through education, empowerment and leadership.
By focusing on one girl at a time, one community at a time, we are laying the pathway for all girls in Africa to have the opportunities they need to thrive as individuals. We have started our mission in Enoosaen, Kenya, by building the first girls’ boarding school where girls can cultivate their dreams with confidence and gain greater control over their lives.
