Nampayio’s biggest is hope is to lift her family out of poverty. As one of seven children, Nampayio works hard in school so she can support her parents to educate the rest of her siblings. Though her parents never attended school and are unable to pay school tuition, they support Nampayio’s journey to be educated. She wants to make them proud. During her grade 8 national examinations, she received one of the highest scores. She dreams of becoming a surgeon.
She says that she must give back to the school and see many other girls get education in her community. “I am thankful to KCE because it has helped me to become the girl I am today. I would have been circumcised and maybe get pregnant. The Health and Leadership Training programs have really taught me a lot,” says Nampayio.
