Rachel graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois with a B.A. in Psychology and Wayne State University School of Law in Detroit, Michigan. Upon graduation, she got married and had two daughters. Rachel practiced consumer bankruptcy law for 20 years before starting her writing career which was inspired by the experiences of her daughters.
